Can you believe it's the last unofficial day of summer? How did we even get here?! I don't know about you, but this summer was crazy for me. We upped and moved from Pennsylvania to Florida and it just made the whole time seem to fly right by.
Maybe your kids are back at school and you want to keep your summertime movement going. It always easier to stay active in the summertime, especially if you live in those cold weather states. But don't forget the embrace the outdoors and enjoy the scenery while you can and stay active this fall. Nature is good for the soul.
As the days become shorter, it becomes harder to stay motivated so I want to give you a list of ideas of what you can do this fall to stay active outside.
10 ways to stay active and enjoy the outdoors during the fall season:
Hiking Adventures: Explore local trails and witness the stunning transformation of foliage. Hiking is a fantastic way to engage your body and mind while soaking in the beauty of nature.
Apple Picking: Turn an outing into a fun activity by picking apples at an orchard. Walking through orchards and reaching for apples can provide a low-intensity workout.
Biking Tours: Hop on your bike and pedal through scenic routes, taking in the crisp fall air and picturesque landscapes. Biking is an excellent cardiovascular exercise.
Outdoor Yoga: Roll out your mat in a serene park or forest clearing for an invigorating outdoor yoga session. The fresh air and natural surroundings add an extra dimension to your practice.
Pumpkin Patch Workouts: Combine your love for fall festivities with exercise. Engage in bodyweight exercises like squats, lunges, and planks between picking out pumpkins.
Nature Walks: Take leisurely walks in parks, gardens, or by the lakeside. This gentle activity not only keeps you active but also allows you to connect with the changing season.
Trail Running: If you're looking for a more intense workout, try trail running. The uneven terrain challenges your muscles and improves balance and agility.
Outdoor Sports: Gather friends for games of football, soccer, or frisbee. These team sports promote social interaction while keeping you moving.
Fall Photography Walks: Combine your passion for photography with a stroll through nature. Capture the vibrant colors while staying active at a comfortable pace.
Leaf Raking and Yard Work: Turning fall chores into workouts can be rewarding. Raking leaves, gardening, and other yard tasks engage your muscles and burn calories.
Remember, the key is to choose activities that you genuinely enjoy. Staying active outside in the fall allows you to reap the benefits of physical activity while immersing yourself in the beauty of the season.
