How are you living?

How many times do you hear about dieting and intense exercise to be healthier? All the time. It’s been ingrained into our brains. This is diet culture telling us this!

Yes, of course, eating nutritiously and being active are two important factors to living a longer, healthier life, but there is so more to it!

One of those factors is stress reduction. Chronic stress has been linked to a host of health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, and depression. By reducing our stress levels, we can improve our overall health and potentially extend our lives.

Way to reduce stress

  • Meditate

  • Yoga

  • Spend time in nature

  • Read a book

  • Deep breathing exercises

Another important factor in our health and longevity is sleep. Getting enough sleep is essential for our bodies to repair and regenerate, and lack of sleep has been linked to a host of health problems, including high blood pressure, kidney disease, and heart disease. So how can we improve our sleep?

Ways to improve sleep

  • Establish a consistent sleep routine

  • Go to bed and wake up at the same time

  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed

  • Stop using screen 2 hours before bed

Your stress level and sleep are just as important for your health as exercise and eating nutritious foods.

These practices are not only effective, but they are also enjoyable and sustainable. So why not give them a try?
