How do you find comfort?

Do you comfort yourself with food? It's been a stressful day and all the sudden you find yourself at the bottom of the ice cream pint? It happens to the best of us. We've all been there!

Eating for comfort is an instinctive behavior for many people. It helps send chemicals that makes us feel good to the brain. We are looking for comfort when we are in pain.

There are ways to try to change this behavior. Sometimes eating is the only answer to what will make you feel better and that's ok too! You can try your best to do it mindfully and not overeat!

But if you are looking for something to do when you are feeling bad, here is a list that may help you:

  1. Call a trusted friend.

  2. Go for a bike ride

  3. Play with your pet.

  4. Vent in a journal.

  5. Meditate

  6. Go for a walk.

  7. Dance to your favorite playlist.

  8. Do a puzzle.

  9. Take a bath.

  10. Do some yoga.

  11. Make a gratitude list.

  12. Bake something for someone else.

  13. Get comfy and watch a movie.

  14. Listen to your favorite podcast.

  15. Paint or do an adult coloring book.

  16. Read a book.

  17. Sit under the stars.

  18. Plan your next vacation.

  19. Watch inspiring speeches on YouTube.

  20. Breathe... breathe in for 5 seconds, hold for 5 seconds, breathe out for 10. Repeat!

Let's have some fun!
