There are times in our lives where everything just seems to be going wrong and there are times when things are just actually going constantly wrong and we can't control what is happening. You sometimes feel helpless!
It's true we can be helpless in situations we are in, that we have no control over, but that doesn't mean that we have to be helpless in the way that we react to it.
Excess stress in our life can bring on the excess cortisol in our body, which is the stress hormone. Too much cortisol over an extended period of time can wreak havoc on the body. It can be the cause for some age-related diseases.
This isn't about toxic positivity. I don't want you to feel like you can't be sad or have other feelings besides being positive, because that is not being true to yourself. I want to give some tips on trying to stay positive when you are in a negative situation and hope it helps you find the silver lining.
Talk to yourself. Remind yourself that every situation is temporary. It won't be like this forever.
Stay connected with the people you love. Having social connectedness will help lower cortisol.
Give yourself mindful time alone. Meditate, read a book, sip tea in quiet, go for a walk. Find something good for the soul.
Help others. This helps you feel better and lowers cortisol.
Set times for social media. You don't want to be comparing your life to others highlight reel.

I hope you enjoy your week and that you are not currently in a negative situation.
