The Art of Aging

How are you doing? I hope life is treating you well.

This past weekend, I turned 40! And I could have cried about turning another decade, but I'd say this is the first time in my life, I am not really bothered by getting older. (Plus we celebrated in Paris, so that helps)

I mean, sure things are different, my body falls apart at the slightest movement. No joke, I had to ice my back all day the other day because I pulled a muscle getting out of bed. What is that about?

But I really hope we can start embracing this aging process because if we are lucky enough, it is coming whether we like it or not.

So here are some tips to age gracefully:

  1. Do what makes you happy and do more that helps you eliminate stress. Stress can really start to take a toll on your body. So get out there and figure out what makes you happy and do it.

  2. Build some muscle mass. You don't have to be a body builder, but it is important for your to your muslces as we start to lose it. Plus, a bonus is it helps protect your bones.

  3. Eat meals with protein, carbs and fats and plenty of vegetables. Do your best to moderate foods with toxins.

  4. Sleep more. Getting good quality sleep will not only help with how you feel, but also how you age.

  5. Take care of your skin. Drink plenty of water, moisturize and always remember your sunscreen.

  6. Go to your regular check-ups. Stop avoiding doctors.

  7. Learn to love your body. Your body is changing and we can't stop it. Learn to accept these changes and have a healthy body image.

No matter where you are in the aging process, I hope these tips help you to learn to accept and love yourself as we get older.
