Why do we make being healthy so complicated??
There's about a million and a half different diets you can choose from and maybe you've tried some of them. How did that go for you? Like most people, I'm guessing it might have worked for a little bit, but then it was too restrictive, you felt like you failed, and gave up. This is the diet cycle! And I'm telling you, you didn't fail and it's not your fault!
So, what are we to do? Well, silly, go call your mom. She had it right! Did your mom ever tell you to eat your fruits and vegetables and go outside and play! I'm betting she did. These are key factors in feeling younger and living longer. The benefits of eating more plant-based foods are vast. They improve your immune system, reduce risk of cancer, heart disease. They reduce inflammation, lower risk of diabetes, lower your cholesterol, reduce your risk of Alzheimer's and increase your overall lifespan.
Guess what? Mom was right about going outside to play too! The benefits of getting outdoors and sun are huge. Vitamin D from the sun helps keep away many diseases. Being outdoors also makes you happier, lowers blood pressure and improves your sleep. Being active will keep you young so here's a list of outdoor exercises to up your health:

7 Outdoor activities
1. Hiking. Find some local trails near you.
2. Swimming. When the weather permits, get active in the pool. 3. Walk, job, run. Join a local walking or running club. 4. Bike Riding. Be a kid again and hop on a bike. Tour around. 5. Rollerblading/Rollerskating. You can't tell me that doesn't sound like fun! 6. Do yoga. Breathe in the fresh air. 7. Skiing/Snowboarding. Best way to spend the day in the snow.
Remember diet and exercise doesn't have to be so complicated. Your mom was right! "Eat your fruits and veggies and go outside and play!" The next time, you are thinking about going on a diet, remember to call your mom instead. She knows what's up (and she might want to hear from you too)
Have a great week and thanks for being here!

Let's have some fun!
