Have you read The High Five Habit by Mel Robbins yet?
I just finished this book this morning and if you don't know who Mel Robbins is I highly recommend getting to know her through her books, podcast or social media pages.
Start your morning with a high five everyday.
It sounds kind of crazy, but there is actual science to high fiving yourself in the mirror this morning and find the good things you like about yourself rather than looking in the mirror and coming up with everything negative.
We associate high fives with celebrations so when we high five ourselves in the mirror, we immediate change our mindset to celebrate ourselves. Try it out and tell me it didn't put a smile on your face!
A high five morning routine puts you first and only takes 10 minutes. If you try this new simple habit, you will start your day right.
#1 Put yourself first... Get out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off.
#2 Tell yourself what you need to hear in the morning. Put your hand on your heart and say, "I'm okay, I'm safe. I'm loved."
#3 Make your bed. This makes it easier to not crawl back in bed.
#4 Go to the mirror and high five yourself.
#5 Put your exercise clothes on right away.
#6 Dream in the morning. It helps train your brain. Write 5 things you want every morning.
Reply back to me and let me know how it felt to high five yourself in the morning. I'm not kidding you, that it does make you feel better. I thought it was wonky too!
